HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIBRAS!

28TH BIRTHDAY!
29TH BIRTHDAY!
So many things have changed in a year...

My health issues are almost ALL gone!  I suffered from food allergies, poor digestion, terrible sleeping patterns, anxiety and bouts of depression.  I researched, experimented and figured out exactly what I needed to do and now I am in my healthiest year in 5 years.
I created walkntalkwellness to help others achieve their optimal health,
by guiding them as their health, wellness and life coach.

Dedicated to my libra,
For teaching me about commitment and communication.
Love your libra.

Jennifer Pastiloff's Yoga Manifestation Workshop, A Must GO!

This woman was sent to this earth to spread truth, to banish idealisms and to encourage the real deal.

I attended her 2.5 hour, Yoga Manifestation Workshop this Saturday at hauteyoga Queen Anne.  She couldn't have found a better space to hold this workshop, mats lined every inch of the room and people were more than willing to scoot over.  Talk about love, talk about community.

Jen asked a great question to start off the workshop..."In order to be who you want to be, what do you need to let go of?"  Are they big things, little things, people, jobs, etc.  Next task, write down what or who you're around when you feel the most inspired.  So we wrote and then we started to vinyasa flow.  Sailing through poses, Jen shouted  with enthusiasm, "to be who we were meant to be!"  We transitioned from down dog to high lunge and paused.  "Hold hands and sing loud!"  The song started and we all sung, "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!"  It was one of those moments that you look back and can't help but smile.

Tears were streaming down cheeks, as Jen encouraged, "Don't hold back!  When you suppress an emotion, it has no choice but to come back."

So we really let go and BOY did it feel goooood.  Then came the real tear jerker, "Write a one-page letter to yourself from someone in your life who has given you unconditional love."  I wrote a letter to myself from my Mom.  The unconditional, motivational, go for everything with eyes wide open, loving Mother.

If you're reading this, I encourage you to do this.  Seriously.  And look at it from time to time, whenever self doubt starts to rear its ugly head.  Because it will.  But this time, you'll have something to get you re-focused and quick!

I don't want to give everything away, because her workshop is a gift to be experienced.  I'll ask you, what she asked us, "What are you manifesting?"

Why Do We Stop Doing what we love?

Have you ever looked at a yogi?
They walk with a glide. And every step is mindful.
I was browsing through my yogi buddies facebook photos and there's a mass difference between them and my non-yogic friends.
Yogi's dress in looser clothing, wear less makeup and smile effortlessly...When you catch the yoga bug, the scratch doesn't go away.  I've taken month-long breaks from attending classes, trying to prove that I'm different, or better than my yoga practice...It doesn't work.  It makes me feel confused, uneasy and stressed.  I yell at people in my car, I'm not as pleasant to be around and I feel like my footsteps are heavy.  My mind is filled with self doubt and I feel tired.
When I re-enter the world of yoga, it's like a bursting energy ball looming towards my head.  I imagine that my head opens up and in drops a HUGE, shining light!  My thoughts become positive, my posture straightens and my steps through life are effortless.
And after class, I wonder why I've stayed away so long from something that I love?  Something that brings me joy.  What am I fighting?  What am I trying to prove?  I'm not talking about things we love that aren't good for us or that don't love us back.  I know runners who stop running.  Writers who keep their pen in the drawer and speakers who stay silent.  I've named this case, "journey funk."  We get stuck somewhere along the way and we just look around at everyone and everything that keeps moving.  Hoping someone will lend a hand or tell us what to do.  When really, the hand you need to lend is to yourself.

Are You a Dreamer, a Drifter or a Focused Individual?

What holds you back
from making your dreams a reality?
Do you know what your dream is yet?
What are you scared of?

"How do I make my dream a reality,
when I don't know what it is I'm supposed to be doing?"

I have so many dreams, goals and ideas that I find it difficult to focus on one.  Unlike my loving boyfriend, who has such drive, ambition and laser beam focus.  When he sets his mind to something, there is no stopping him.  I truly envy people like him, probably because I am not like him.  I tend to run with the drifters, because I am one...

I am a chameleon.  I get along with most people.  I empathize.  I connect.  I listen.  I speak.  I make eye contact.  I react.  I observe.  I feel really connected to my intuition.  I listen to the voice in my stomach.  Ya know, that burning feeling you get when you're doing something wrong?   That is intuition or the "gut reaction."  It's pretty amazing what happens when you start listening to it.

I work as an Assistant for the owner of a Yoga and Meditation.  I LOVE what I'm learning, assisting with and the positive souls I'm around.  I feel like I am finally on the right path.  I also get to fulfill one of my dreams as a Nutrition Coach.  Helping people come home to their bodies through real food and true balance, has been quite a gift in my life.

Do you ever feel like there's not enough time to do everything on your bucket list?  I sure do.  But if we start, we're one step ahead of the people that don't start, right?  By the end of the year, do you think there's one thing on your bucket list that you can cross off?

I wanted to write a book by this year. I recently changed that goal to, "I want to START a book by the end of this year."  That gives me and you time to START something great, something so incredibly dear to you, for you, by you.

Thank you for being a dreamer, a drifter or a focused individual!
