Is Comparing Yourself to Others...

Making you happy?
Yesterday I woke up feeling really great!  I got in my walking gear, took a little jaunt around the neighborhood, tunes bustin' in my ears, sunny sky and sweat drippin' down my forehead.  I chugged water when I returned home, took a shower while singin' a little ditty and made some lunch.

While eating, I logged onto facebook.  After probably 2 minutes of browsing the newsfeed, I started feeling like I wasn't doing enough with my life. That I should probably just drink a gallon of water and eat carrots to slim down.  And started feeling depressed that I don't have a boyfriend.  What the hell!?!?!  Damn facebook. Ruining our days, flooding our conversations and leaving nothing to the imagination! It's screwing with reality!  The pictures that are uploaded aren't even what we really look like (thank you Instagram).

I quickly logged off once I started thinking that I wasn't doing enough (I'm not type A).  And I don't go away every weekend to visit friends/relax with my non-existent boyfriend and I REFUSE to feel bad about it.

It got me thinking.  Comparing yourself to others is a lose-lose situation.  There will ALWAYS be someone more accomplished, more in love, blah blah blah!  So how about we live our lives with intention?  Our own intention.  Why don't we try being happy for others?  Instead of trying to degrade what others have accomplished, let's celebrate their victories!

We have to stop worrying about the future (no use).
We can't change the past (so let's stop revisiting it).
We can only be in the present.  So enjoy it!

This Little Light O' Mine!

In the next couple of months I begin a new career, start a yearlong holistic health & wellness certification program and possibly move into a different place.  These life changes bring happiness, excitement and fear.

Believe in yourself.  Believe in your potential.

IF fear is holding you back:

-Try repeating this mantra: One Day At A Time
-Daily yoga sesh, either in a group setting/on a DVD/a home practice
-Talking to friends on the phone, instead of texting
-Drinking lots of water
-Listening to music that's inspiring/motivating/calming
-Trying a new workout class/different yoga studio
-Saying yes to things you'd normally say no to
-Saying no to things you'd normally say yes to
-Learning something new that interests YOU
-Family time
-Watching videos/reading books to help you
cope with whatever you’re going through (you’re not alone) J
-Being active in getting help/healthy
-Trying to be in the moment as much as possible
Courage is not the lack of fear but the ability to face it."

Bring BACK the Sun in YOUR LIFE!

All right Seattleites, spring is just around the corner, the sun is peaking through the clouds!!!!  Wait...where'd it go?  What's with this gray sky bizzz?  Like life right?  One minute, our careers are thriving and we're in love with the potential 'one.'  We've knocked off the last 3 pounds to our weight loss goal and can see our ab muscles surging through the winter belly coat!!!!
(winter coat)
And then it rains....a bad day at work, "maybe this person isn't who I want to spend the rest of my life with" and cookies sound reaaaally scrumptious.

Let's knock Eeyore on his back and take back our optimism regardless of the clouds, the cold weather and the rain.  SCREW YOU BAD WEATHER!  You're messin' with the wrong crowd.  We have inspiring, positive, uplifting quotes/stories at the touch of our fingertips thanks to google.

§  We get our mini-vacay's every day in HOT YOGA!
§  We get to stay inside and not feel guilty about it, but instead snuggle up to whomever or whatever (big body pillow).
§  We appreciate the sun that much more because it makes special VIP visits in the summer months!
§  We are constantly chugging warm/piping hot bevies to stay warm which in turn speeds up our metabolism and detoxes our bodies!
§  We don't run the risk of getting sunburned!

YES!!!!  So next time we feel like our insides match the dreary weather, let's rejoice for ALL the gifts we DO have!

Family, friends, jobs, music, food & drinks, concerts, wearing a hood on walks! (What)?

BOO-YAH!
Start writing about what you HAVE
and you'll start smiling.
Guaranteed.

Trust Your Intuition.

In 2009 I boarded a plane to Thailand.
When I returned home 8 months later,
I was unaware that I’d packed more than just my luggage…

Since that trip I’ve seen countless doctors, neurologists, naturopaths, food allergists, specialists, etc. trying to figure out why I felt so damn weird/flighty all the time.  Less than two weeks ago, my new doctor/savior/nutritional healer, found the answer:
A Parasite.
Best worst news ever!!!

I’m writing this in hopes of helping others who might experience the same thing/s!

Here are the symptoms:

o   Legs felt heavy
o   Vertigo/Dizziness/Nausea
o   Rapid weight gain
o   Cloudy thinking
o   Anxiety/Depression
o   Trouble with digestion
o   Feels like skin crawling
o   Food sensitivities become allergies
o   No energy
o   Cravings for sugar
o   Legs tingly after drinking booze/caffeine

If you experience symptoms like these, it’d be in your best interest to get checked for a parasite, especially if you’ve been overseas.

Any questions?
DO NOT HESITATE!
Ask me anything.
